Kent Community Time Bank

The mission of the Kent Community TimeBank Inc. is to provide a system of exchange where individuals and groups with needs and wants are answered by members with services, skills and resources for the purpose of building community.

When you provide a service for our community, you earn one Time Credit. You may then spend that Time Credit on any of the hundreds of offers in the timebank. It is not barter. It is not volunteering.  It is building community in a way that makes use of our skills and meets our needs.

The Time Bank is managed using a software program called Hourworld. On this software, you can offer or ask for services, and exchange credit for services. When you click on the above link, you can find videos showing how to use it on the main page.

You can apply for membership here. The Time Bank offers orientation both in-person or virtually several times a year. Once you have attended orientation, our membership committee will activate your membership and you will be free to make exchanges.

We use other tools to help our members communicate — several Facebook pages, a monthly newsletter, and regular in-person events. However, the driving force of the organization is the hourworld software that allows us to record the exchanges that creates the purpose of our community.
